Odds and sods and news

This'll be cool: A docomentary about Shoegaze bands, with innerviews with My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields and Debbie Googe, JAMC's Reid brothers and Douglas Hart, and Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde, as well as Robert Smith (the Cure), Neil Halstead (Slowdive), Mark Gardner and Andy Bell (Ride), Emma Anderson (Lush), Adam Franklin (Swervedriver), Toni Halliday (Curve), Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), and others who were there.

The Beastie Boys are playing an all-instrumental show at L.A.'s Wiltern theatre on Aug. 21. The Live Nation pre-sale starts Friday at 10 am. PST. They've got a few other instrumental shows here and there, but this is a new addition.

Garbage is heading back into da studio sometime in 2008.

Guitar Center Calling: Strap on your very own "Joe Strummer" Fender guitar. It'll look nice with your Ramones Converse, you poser.
