Odds and sods and news

Ooooh, extras! When you buy Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga at a certified indie record store, you get a free limited edition 7" featuring a demo of "The Underdog" and the b-side "It Took A Rumor To Make Me Wonder, Now I’m Convinced I’m Going Under." This is in addition to the 12-track bonus EP being issued with the CD. And, double-extra-special bonus for L.A. residents: the first 150 peeps to buy it at Amoeba get a Golden Ticket to Spoon's "secret" show July 16 at Little Radio. They're doing similar "secret shows" in Chicago and SF as well. Get in line now, friends.

Earth yes: It was inevitable that the majority of viewers would end up watching choice moments of the Live Earth spectacle, rather than stay glued to Bravo or whatever all day long. Stereogum's just made it easier, picking and choosing the best bits. And also Genesis. ooooh, BURN!

How the heck did The Hives land an opening gig for Maroon 5? Was there a typo somewhere?

The 13th studio release from The Cure will be a double album. Enjoy.

And the Bloc Party have added some North American dates. Also enjoy.
